Vinted Postage Options in the UK: InPost vs Evri vs Royal Mail
Who pays for postage on Vinted — buyer or seller?
The buyer does. Postage is added at checkout above the item price and the Vinted fee, and it is the buyer — not you — who selects the carrier from the options you have switched on. Your payout stays fixed at your full listed price no matter which postage choice they make: the delivery cost never eats into what you receive.
Once the sale completes, Vinted creates the shipping for you. What lands with you is either a label to print or a QR code to scan at the drop-off point — you never buy postage yourself and never have to guess a parcel’s weight at a counter.
Which delivery companies can Vinted buyers choose?
The main names are InPost, Evri and Royal Mail, with DPD, Relay, AnyVan (for large items) and DHL Express showing up in some regions. You decide which options appear on your listings; the buyer then picks one of them at checkout.
In reality, almost all secondhand clothing travels through the big three. InPost operates the locker network, Evri runs ParcelShops alongside its own lockers, and Royal Mail works through Post Office branches — the familiar choice for buyers who do not trust lockers.
How much does each Vinted postage option cost?
Vinted publishes no carrier price list of its own — the precise checkout price is set per parcel size and revealed only to the buyer. The nearest public reference is each courier’s direct tariff, and the pecking order never changes: InPost cheapest, Evri middle, Royal Mail dearest.
InPost locker-to-locker starts at £1.99 for a small parcel, stepping to £2.59 medium and £3.99 large; locker-to-home runs £2.89, £3.99 and £5.99. Parcels may weigh up to 15 kg and measure up to 41 × 38 × 64 cm — though Vinted’s own InPost choice is capped at the 2 kg standard tier, so heavier items may not list it.
Evri lands around £2.62 to a ParcelShop and roughly £2.89 for home delivery, per MoneySavingExpert’s worked example. Royal Mail Tracked 48 — the tracked, buyer-trusted pick — is £3.75 for a small parcel following the October 2026 price rise. (Direct prices via lockerrules.co.uk, verified 6 October 2026; the Royal Mail rise took effect 5 October 2026.)
How do QR codes and drop-offs actually work?
No printer is no obstacle. Most Vinted labels arrive as a QR code: hold your phone up at an InPost locker or Evri point and the machine prints the label there and then. Royal Mail QR codes scan at the Post Office counter. The entire setup assumes sellers have no printer at home.
Drop-off runs 24/7 at InPost lockers — a genuine help if you work unusual hours — while ParcelShops and Post Offices keep to shop hours. A single hard rule governs the rest: Evri and InPost have operated wholly separate networks since 1 March 2025, so an Evri code scanned at an InPost locker simply fails. Match the code to the courier named on your label before leaving the house.
After drop-off, tracking flows into the Vinted app on its own. Hang on to your proof of posting until the buyer confirms arrival — if a parcel goes astray, that scan record is your evidence.
What happened to Yodel on Vinted?
Older selling guides still list Yodel as a Vinted carrier. It no longer exists as a brand: Yodel was retired on 17 July 2026, with its network absorbed into InPost. Any guide, video or forum thread still advising you to pick Yodel on Vinted is out of date.
Nothing about your routine changes apart from the name on the label. Parcels that once travelled as Yodel now travel as InPost, through the locker network described above.
Does the postage choice affect what you earn?
Directly, no — your payout is locked to your listed price whichever option the buyer selects. Indirectly, postage decides whether the item sells at all: a £12 top paired with £3.75 Royal Mail postage reads worse than the same top with £1.99 InPost postage, because buyers compare checkout totals, not item prices.
So switch the cheap options on and let the buyer choose. And to see the complete buyer-side arithmetic — item price plus the 3–8% + £0.30–£0.80 Vinted fee plus postage — put it through the calculator:

Frequently asked questions
Do I pay postage as a Vinted seller?
No. The buyer pays postage at checkout and you receive a prepaid label or QR code — postage never reduces your payout.
How long do I have to post a Vinted parcel?
Five business days from the sale. Miss that window and the order can be cancelled.
Can I choose the courier on Vinted?
You choose which options appear on your listings, but the buyer picks one at checkout. You cannot force a particular carrier on a buyer.
Why can’t I find Yodel on Vinted any more?
Yodel no longer exists as a brand — it was retired on 17 July 2026 and folded into InPost, so select the InPost option instead.
Do I need a printer to sell on Vinted?
No. Vinted issues QR codes that you scan on your phone at InPost lockers, Evri points and Post Office counters, and the machine prints the label.
