How Much Does It Cost to Sell on Vinted in the UK?
What fees does Vinted charge UK sellers?
None. Vinted does not charge UK sellers a listing fee, a commission (final value fee) or a payment processing fee. If you list an item at £20 and it sells, £20 lands in your Vinted balance. This is the core of Vinted’s business model: the platform earns its money from buyers, not sellers.
That makes the maths unusually simple compared with other marketplaces. Your profit on a sale is your sale price minus what the item cost you (and minus any optional promotion you paid for). Postage never comes out of your payout either — the buyer pays it at checkout.
What does the buyer pay on top of your price?
Two things are added at the buyer’s checkout. First, the Vinted fee (renamed from “Buyer Protection fee” in Vinted’s terms effective 8 October 2026): in the UK this is 3–8% of the item price plus a fixed £0.30–£0.80, varying with the item, the order value and whether it is a bundle. On a £20 item that is typically around £1.70.
Second, postage. The buyer chooses the carrier at checkout from the options you have enabled — InPost, Evri, Royal Mail, DPD and others — and pays Vinted’s set price for the parcel size. You then receive a prepaid label or QR code and drop the parcel off.
How does Vinted postage work for sellers?
When your item sells, Vinted generates the shipping label automatically. You do not need to buy postage yourself. Drop the parcel at the carrier’s point — an InPost locker, an Evri ParcelShop, a Post Office for Royal Mail — within five business days.
Two things catch new sellers out. First, Evri and InPost have been entirely separate networks since March 2025: an Evri label will be rejected at an InPost locker, so check the courier name on your label before you leave home. Second, the Yodel brand was retired in July 2026 and its network became InPost, so older guides that mention Yodel on Vinted are out of date.
- InPost lockers: cheapest option, roughly £1.99 and up, 24/7 drop-off, QR code — no printer needed.
- Evri: ParcelShops plus its own lockers; around £2.62 to a ParcelShop.
- Royal Mail Tracked 48: the most expensive of the common options (£3.75 for a small parcel since October 2026) but the most trusted brand with buyers.
What are the only optional costs for Vinted sellers?
Vinted sells visibility, not selling itself. Bump pushes your listing higher in search results for 3 or 7 days (from around £1), and Wardrobe Spotlight promotes your whole wardrobe for 7 days (£6.95). Both are entirely optional — plenty of sellers never pay for either.
One more special case: Vinted Pro, used for authenticated trainer sales, carries a 4% category fee. Standard private selling is unaffected.
How does Vinted compare with Depop and eBay on fees?
On a £30 sale, a Vinted seller keeps the full £30. A Depop seller keeps about £28.83 after the 2.9% + £0.30 payment processing fee (Depop also charges no selling fee in the UK). A UK private seller on eBay also keeps the full £30 — eBay scrapped final value fees for UK private sellers in October 2024 — while an eBay business seller in the clothing category would keep roughly £26 after fees and VAT.
